Oscar Piastri is prepared to chase down Lando Norris in Sao Paulo after he was forced to settle for third position in Sprint Qualifying, viewing this weekend as a potential turning point after a run of challenging rounds.

Lando Norris claimed his first Sprint pole of the season in Sao Paulo, beating Kimi Antonelli and his McLaren team mate Oscar Piastri to the top spot in a close-fought session.

Max Verstappen could not hide his frustration after a challenging run to sixth position in Friday’s Sprint Qualifying session at Interlagos, a result that dented his championship bid.

Lando Norris felt that taking pole position for the Sprint at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix was a “great result” after admitting to “not feeling quite as comfortable” at Interlagos as he had last time out in Mexico.
